Frequently Asked Questions
It’s important to schedule a regular dental check-up and professional cleaning twice a year, or every six months. This allows Dr. Berchelmann to eliminate any built-up plaque or bacteria in different places that your toothbrush can’t reach. Dental exams also give your dentist the chance to catch oral health issues early, like cavities or gum disease.
We recommended that you schedule your child’s first dental visit around the age of four to six months old. During this time, children’s primary (baby) teeth become erupted, which is when they begin to show through the gum line. A child’s first visit is focused on educating them on the importance of good oral hygiene and how to properly take care of their teeth at home.
At Berchelmann Family Dental, our expert team of dentists offers sedation dentistry to maximize your comfort and help you feel completely worry-free during your visit. When you enter our office, you’ll be greeted with warmth, compassion, and friendliness. If you’ll be undergoing a procedure, you can speak with Dr. Berchelmann about our sedation options.
To maintain the health of your teeth and gums, our dentists recommend the following:
- Use a soft-bristled brush twice a day
- Rinse in between meals with mouthwash
- Floss regularly on a daily basis
You should also schedule regular dental check-ups and cleanings at least every six months, or twice a year with your dentist. This allows them to eliminate any built-up plaque or bacteria, and prevent cavities, gum disease, and more in the future.
